DUQUE DE BRAGANÇA PADRINHO DE BAPTISMO DE CARLOS DE BOURBON-PARMA

Sua Altezza Reale il Principe Carlo Enrico Leonardo di Borbone Parma è stato battezzato a Parma. E per l’occasione è arrivato in città ospite il re d’Olanda Willem-Alexander e la moglie Maxima Zorreguieta. Prima tappa una veloce colazione a T-Palazzo dove ad accogliere Willem-Alexander c’era Guido Dalla Rosa Prati. Poi la cerimonia ha avuto luogo nella cattedrale del Duomo celebrata dal vescovo monsignor Enrico Solmi. Le Loro Altezze Reali il Duca e la Duchessa di Parma e Piacenza hanno scelto Parma come luogo per il Battesimo del Loro terzogenito per il valore storico e simbolico che la città dell’antico ducato riveste da diversi secoli per la Famiglia Ducale. Il principe Carlo Enrico è primo in linea alla successione del padre come Duca di Parma e Piacenza e Capo della Real Casa di Borbone Parma. Il principe Carlo Enrico ha cinque padrini. Sua Maestà il Re dei Paesi Bassi Guglielmo Alessandro, Sua Altezza Reale Dom Duarte Pio, Duca di Bragança, Sua Altezza Reale la Principessa Maria de las Nieves di Borbone Parma, Javier Lubelza Roca e Lodovico Gualthérie van Weezel. L’abito di battesimo del Principe è un antico abito di famiglia del 19° secolo. Una spilla a forma di colomba, di proprietà dei Oranje Nassau, la famiglia Reale dei Paesi Bassi, attaccata sull‘abito battesimale, rappresenta lo Spirito Santo. Sua Altezza Reale il Duca di Parma e Piacenza ha conferito a suo figlio il titolo di Principe di Piacenza: titolo tradizionale che viene assegnato al principe ereditario della Casa di Borbone Parma, continuatore della Dinastia, e futuro duca di Parma,Piacenza e Stati annessi.

CRISTENING PRINS CARLOS DE BOURBON DE PARME


Prince Carlos Enrico Leonardo of Bourbon-Parma, son and heir of the Duke of Parma, has been baptised this Sunday in the Cathedral of Parma. The ceremony was held by the Bishop of Parma, Mgr. Enrico Solmi. The choir of the university of Parma sang among others ‘Verleih uns Frieden” of F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
The little prince was carried into the church by one of his godfathers, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. The other godparents were made up by the Duke of Bragança, head of the Portuguese royal family, Lodewijk Gualtherie van Weezel, maternal uncle of the little prince, Princess Maria des Neiges of Bourbon-Parma, a great-aunt and Javier Lubelza Roca. During the ceremony all his godparents expressed a wish for the the life of prince Carlos.

Apart from the godparents, the ceremony was attended by several royals, among them Queen Máxima and her daughters, Princess Irene of The Netherlands, Prince Jaime and Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma and families. Princess Carolina attended the ceremony without husband or children. Also present were princesses Cecilia and Maria Theresa of Borbon-Parma and Prince Charles-Henri Lobcovicz.
The prince was baptised in the same gown as his sisters Luisa and Cecilia, his mother Duchess Annemarie and his maternal grandmother. The gown dates back to the 19th century. His great-great grandfather dr. J. Th. de Visser (1857), minister of Education and minister of State, was also baptised in it.
