This gem of a church in Twickenham was where Portugal's last monarch
King Manuel II worshipped between 1914 and his death in Twickenham in
1932 after which his remains were returned to Lisbon for a State Funeral.
Recently the new church benches were unveiled which I was happy to
support as did the Constantinian Order. It is my local parish church.
Soon the Church will go under further renovation and see the addition of new stain glass windows to compliment the existing ones which were donated by the King and Queen of Portugal.
It is hoped too that a statute of the popular monarch will also be unveiled in the years to come reminding Londoners of the ancient ties which exist between our two countries.
